A multidisciplinary creative space to imagine how architecture can participate in community making in the 21st century. Too often, architecture is defined as the solution, but in reality, it can only seek to provide adaptive spaces that change just as frequently as the people and groups it serves. This is a project about breaking rules. It is formally constructed to serve as the Belltown Institute for Fashion Design, Modern Dance and Astrophysics in Seattle.
Architecture today seeks to respond to the digital revolution, climate change and economic globalization. We live in highly contested times, and are uncertain about the future. We rely no longer on the SLR but the iPhone. Can we create a community-centric iPhone-architecture?
